Eco Friendly Bag-Making

In this day and age the eco-friendly bags have been in great demand than other synthetic products because they are eco-friendly and most of them satisfy both aesthetic and utility values. The plastic products are creating  serious ecological problems because of  their non-degradable nature. The Kerala Government has now banned the use of  plastic below 20 microns and the use of  eco-friendly product is being advocated. The global demand for eco – friendly products are also increasing day by day. Plastic products are being replaced by eco-friendly and non woven products, some have great demand in office and other business establishments.

The training proposed is for empowering the SC community by providing them vocational in eco-friendly products like non woven bags. After the training they will be provided bank finance to set up their own production unit. They will also be encouraged to form self help groups of SHGs & JLGs. Training on soft skills like book keeping, accounting, entrepreneurship development are also integrated with the training curriculum.

The plastic waste is mainly produced due to the dumping of plastic carry bags in open fields of Kerala. The non-biodegradable material deteriorates the soil as well as drinking water resources. Hence this project is designed to mitigate the polluted environment of Kerala. Nowadays the people of Kerala are looking forward to purely eco-friendly carry bags . This product has good market in abroad too.
